Dr Rhiana Menen

Rhiana Menen, MD is a general and breast surgeon with experience and training in general, robotic and laparoscopic surgery. She completed fellowship training in breast surgical oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center and is one of only two fellowship trained breast surgeons in the state of Idaho. She served as the Medical Director for Breast Surgery for St Luke’s hospital system. Dr. Menen has particular interest in cancer care, women's health, and cancer prevention. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
One of Dr. Menen’s main interests is international and medically underserved populations. She travels yearly to Kenya for surgical camps and is a board member of the Tiba Foundation. She is particularly passionate about women’s empowerment as a means to expand health and economic self-determination to women all over the world. She is a co-founder of the BodaGirls of the Tiba Foundation, a women’s-run motorcycle taxi service that connects women in rural Kenya to the health services they need, provides safe rides to school girls, enables girls to complete their education by providing sustainable menstrual hygiene kits and teaching, and has brought economic sustainability and legitimacy to the amazing women in this program.

Carrie Newton, DO, MS
Dr. Carrie Newton is a board-certified general surgeon who provides care and treatment for a broad range of surgical conditions. She has expertise in traditional, laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures and emphasizes a minimally invasive approach whenever possible. She believes in creating a patient care partnership whereby diagnosis and treatment is accompanied by education, individualized approaches and patient empowerment in decision making.
Dr. Newton shares an interest in cancer care, women's health, and cancer prevention. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons as well as the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and Independent Doctors of Idaho.

Jay Burrup, PA-C is a physician assistant who has dedicated his 12 years of medical practice to surgery, and who earned a master’s of science in physician assistant studies at Pacific University of Oregon. He has learned and taught healthy practices since earning a bachelor of science in kinesiology from Boise State in 2002.
He has provided care in many ways, from physical rehabilitation, fitness and nutrition, to hospital care for the ill and/or injured. In cancer care and general surgery he has found purpose in helping others through their experience with illness and surgery. He believes in a genuine conversation and connection whenever possible, as this allows for the best possible treatment choices, and emotional and physical health outcomes.
He has partnered with Dr. Menen because he recognized her devotion to this sort of approach and her skill as a surgeon, and he admires her as a physician leader, and more generally as a source of good in the world.
